On 13 September 2007 the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced it would host a Champions Twenty20 Cricket tournament in October 2008. The tournament would consist of the top two domestic Twenty20 sides from India, England, Australia and South Africa. The prize fund would be £2.5 Million with £1 million for the winning team.[1] Pakistan will also be a part of the tournament.
